The S1 Biology Study Program of FMIPA UNY is an active member of the Indonesia Biology Consortium (KOBI). KOBI aims to play an active role in the development of higher education in biology in the mastery of biodiversity, for the optimal and sustainable use of biological natural resources for the welfare of mankind and environmental sustainability.

One of the routine agendas held is the National Working Meeting (Rakernas).  The National Meeting in 2024 will be held on July 16-18 at the Convention Hall of Andalas Padang University. The S1 Biology Study Program was represented by the Head of the Department the S1 Biology Study Program, Dr. Anna Rakhmawati, and the Secretary of the Department, Dr. Evy Yulianti. The activity began with an opening by the Regional Secretary of West Sumatra Province (Deputy Governor of West Sumatra), Drs. Hansastri, Ak, MM, CfrA. This activity was attended by the Rector of Andalas University, Dr. Efa Yonnedi; Chairman of KOBI, Prof. Budi Setiadi Daryono M.Agr.Sc., and 50 representatives of study programs from various regions in Indonesia.

The agenda of the National Meeting discussed several topics, namely the continuation of the research results of the calculation of the Indonesia Biodiversity Index (IBI), updating the IBI and MKDH databases, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Sharing sessions on Kedaireka grants/Matching Fund/Matching Fund Program, Indonesian Biologist Association, Socialization of the Biodiversity Curator Professional Program, and Postgraduate Program Curriculum Evaluation Workshop Plan.
