EXCURSE STUDY AND STUDY OF SEA BIOLOGY IN BALURAN TN

2016 Class B Biology Study Program students have carried out Excursion Studies and Marine Biology Field Studies in Baluran National Park, Situbondo, East Java. The field lecture was held on March 25-28, 2019. Baluran National Park has diverse ecosystems ranging from mountain ecosystems, evergreen forests, savanna to beaches.

Data was collected in the Bama Resort area. Excursion studies are carried out by observing bird diversity, while taking Marine Biological data is done by looking at the diversity of marine and mangrove biota. Bama Beach Ecosystem includes coastal forest ecosystems, seagrass beds, mangrove forests and coral reefs.

Data collection on bird diversity in Baluran National Park was conducted at five observation points, including Savana Bama, Bama Coast, mangrove forest, the area around the Bama Resort office and bird watching trail. Because birds are more active in the morning and evening, observations are made twice. The first observation is carried out starting at 06.00 WIB until 10:00 WIB, then the second observation is conducted starting at 15.30-17.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, a field study of Marine Biology was carried out for two days by observing the diversity of seagrass species, mangroves, reef fish, reefs and plankton. Observations of coral reefs and reef fishes were conducted at three observation points located ± 0.5 km from the shoreline. While plankton sampling is done at four points namely on the beach, mangrove forest areas, coral reef areas and seagrass beds.

Excursion Study and Marine Biology Field Study accompanied by Mr. Ir. Suhandoyo, MS. And Mr. Sudarsono, M.Sc. going smoothly and impressively. The implementation of the field study is expected to be able to increase students' knowledge and concern for the environment.
