Facilities

Biology Study Program has adequate academic facilities and supporting academic activities provided by faculties and universities. Academic facilities include department offices, lecture halls, lecturer rooms, examination rooms, abca rooms, laboratories, experimental gardens, green houses, experimental plant gardens, organic waste treatment units, experimental animal management units, experimental pools, organic waste treatment units, management units experimental animals, experimental pools, green house top groves, and mini hitan. Management of the use of space is under the control of the department / study program but the management belongs to the faculty. Supporting infrastructure managed by the faculty is the library (162 m2); courtroom I (62.72 m2), courtroom II (162.4 m2), mosque (50 m2), and Biology HIMA (21 m2).

Lecture room with a capacity of 20-60 students and is equipped with air conditioning (AC), whiteboard, and LCD projector. Structural officials occupy the department room while other lecturers occupy rooms that are scattered in the FMIPA environment. Lecturers occupy 16 rooms occupied by 1-3 lecturers in each room. One room for 1 lecturer is 2 people (@ 30 m2), one room for 2 lecturers is 12 rooms (@ 15 m2), and two rooms (@ 70 m2) are occupied by 3 lecturers.

The Biology laboratory building consists of 3 floors including a basic biology laboratory, tissue culture, microbiology, research, genetics, zoology, microscopy, diversity, environment, and computers. The laboratory room has enough work space for 30-40 students for practicum. The laboratory can be used for practical activities and research for students and lecturers.

The Biology Study Library is located in the FMIPA library, a branch of the Yogyakarta State University library. The faculty library is connected to the university library for online reference search (library.uny.ac.id) students can also use the digital library with online reference access.

Biology study program computer laboratory has 40 computers connected by Local Area Network (LAN) in the FMIPA and University environment. All lecture halls and hallways in the FMIPA environment are equipped with a university-level controlled wifi network by the UPT Computer Center (Puskom). UNY's main computer network is connected to the international internet (IX) and domestic internet (OIXP) using IP transit with AS number 55674 through a reliable Internet Service Provider to ensure connectivity. Total internet bandwidth of 43673 Mbps in 2018 will be distributed through fiber optic networks to all faculties and work units in UNY. This network can be utilized by lecturers and students using a Single Sign-on (SSO) account.

Students of Biology Study Program FMIPA UNY can do activities outside of lectures both within the faculty and university. Some of the available activities are the hall of the faculty and laboratory building, the faculty student organization building, the sports and swimming pool, the student center building, the canteen / food court of UNY and Plaza UNY.
