CELEBRATING THE EARTH DAY WITH ARWANA

In order to commemorate the Earth Day which falls on April 22, 2019, BSO ARWANA UNY held a butterfly host plant planting activity as a form of caring for the preservation of butterflies. This activity was held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the FMIPA UNY area by a number of members.

The host plant used is a type of Aristolochia tagala (betel forest) which is a host plant of the butterfly Troides helena and Pachliopta aristolochiae where the butterfly is an icon for BSO ARWANA UNY. The planting takes place in the Biology Garden and along the FMIPA parking lot. Not just euphoria for a moment, but there is also monitoring done almost every day to make sure the plant is alive and growing. Although only a small thing that can be done, at least provide benefits for the lives of other organisms. Greetings Lestari!
