The Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), invited a guest lecturer for a session in the Applied Microbiology course. The lecture was held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Yamaguchi, Japan — A Community Service (PkM) team from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) conducted a socialization program on the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in Yamaguchi, Japan. The team consisted of Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Didik Nurhadiyanto, ST., MT., IPU, ASEAN Eng, Nur Aeni Ariyanti, SP., MP., M.Agr., Ph.D., and Dr. Evy Yulianti, S.Si., M.Sc., representing the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UNY.

Efforts to support sustainable innovation in the environmental sector continue to grow. Lecturers from the Biology Study Program, FMIPA Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Prof. Dr. Tien Aminatun, S.Si., M.Si. and Dr. Anna Rakhmawati, S.Si., M.Si., have established a research collaboration with a mining industry partner, PT Bumi Suksesindo (PT BSI).

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Biology Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Yogyakarta State University, held an online Guest Lecture on Phytopharmaceutics via Zoom Meeting. The event was attended by 40 students and accompanied by lecturers Dr. Evy Yulianti, M.Sc., and drh. Anggitya Nareswari, M.Sc.

The Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Yogyakarta State University (YSU), organized a Field Study on Animal Cultivation on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Griya Lebah Tuksongo, Borobudur, Magelang. This activity was designed to give students direct, hands-on experience in honeybee cultivation as part of experiential learning.

The Teaching Practitioner Program was implemented in the Entomology A class of the 2024 cohort, involving 18 students. The activity was fully supported by the course instructor, Dr. Yunita Fera Rahmawati, S.Pd., M.Sc., as part of her commitment to providing meaningful, real-life learning experiences in entomology.

The Department of Biology Education, through the Biology Education Student Association (Himabio) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNY, continues to strengthen a biology-based entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus. One of the key initiatives is building partnerships with industry practitioners and business owners as strategic collaborators. This approach aims to provide students with practical experience in developing and managing startups while still pursuing their studies.

Program KOSABANGSA (Kolaborasi Sosial Membangun Masyarakat) merupakan program Kemendikbudsaintek. Program ini merupakan wujud sinergi antara perguruan tinggi dan masyarakat dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan nyata di lapangan melalui pendekatan ilmiah, kolaboratif, dan berkelanjutan.
